The New Orleans Blues Society Needs you to Keep the Blues Alive.
Hello Blues Lovers
We are now officially a 501c3. (IRS designated non-profit organization.) Which means your membership and or donations are a tax write off.
You have showed an interest in the blues with the newsletter and by attending blues festivals. With that in mind I am sending you this letter to ask you to go the next step and join in the New Orleans Blues Society. We are at a perfect time to keep the blues alive in New Orleans. So many things are happening. Just to name a few.
    Once a month open blues jam to all ages and levels. During the day on a week-end in a family friendly environment.
    So many wonderful bands are continuing to develop or are revived. We need to be there to help them along. e.g. J.D Hill is back .
    Sending bands and solo act to Memphis for the International Blues Challenge.

With your membership we can do so much more.   Such as
    Showcasing our local bands during major events.
    Taking the blues into the schools.
    Buy T-shirts

Every two week we meet early (7:30pm) at one of the local jams (DMAC and Pour House) to discuss ways to keep the blues lives. You are most welcome come and join in. Your opinion, experience and enthusiasm is wanted and needed

The 2nd Annual Mississippi Saxophone Festival - Celebrating the Blues Harmonica on May 27, 2017.

Pre-advanced tickets are $30 until May 26. After May 26, the price increases to $35 on the day of the festival.

Admission for Clarksdale residents is $10 - Available on day of the festival.

The festival starts at noon - ends at 9:00 PM.

Performers (not necessary performing in this order): Billy Boy Arnold, Paul Oscher, Terry "Harmonica" Bean, Carson Diersing, Deak Harp and the Headlining act is Kim Wilson. The All-Star backup band is: Billy Flynn, Kenny "Beedy Eyes" Smith, Bob Stroger, Lil Frank Krakowski, Clay Swafford.
