The New Orleans Blues Society Needs you to Keep the Blues Alive.
Hello Blues Lovers
We are now officially a 501c3. (IRS designated non-profit organization.) Which means your membership and or donations are a tax write off.
You have showed an interest in the blues with the newsletter and by attending blues festivals. With that in mind I am sending you this letter to ask you to go the next step and join in the New Orleans Blues Society. We are at a perfect time to keep the blues alive in New Orleans. So many things are happening. Just to name a few.
Once a month open blues jam to all ages and levels. During the day on a week-end in a family friendly environment.
So many wonderful bands are continuing to develop or are revived. We need to be there to help them along. e.g. J.D Hill is back .
Sending bands and solo act to Memphis for the International Blues Challenge.
With your membership we can do so much more. Such as
Showcasing our local bands during major events.
Taking the blues into the schools.

Annual blues and roots music 'festival' started by fife-legend Otha Turner... late afternoon till late at night -- including Otha's granddaughter Sharde & the Rising Star Fife & Drum Band, Blue Mother Tupelo and many more acts. Often Kimbroughs, Burnsides and others perform. Goat (and 'regular') BBQ available.
DIRECTIONS: "Get off of I-55 on the Senatobia exit and turn away from town down Highway 4. Go approximately three Miles down that road to Gravel Springs Road (the second road to the right on 4 from Senatobia). Turn right on Gravel Springs Road. Go to the second 4-way stop and turn left (that road is OB McClinton Road) Follow that road about a half mile and the Turner's Picnic is on the right there will be lots of cars & people gathered there.
